What is a RMO ?

RMO stands for Resident Medical Officer and plays a vital role in hospitals throughout the UK. It is the perfect opportunity for those who wish to study for post graduate exams or for doctors looking to expand their clinical experience whilst earning a good salary. Many RMO’s stay on in the UK and work within the NHS. RMO work is the perfect opportunity for you to achieve this.

Being a RMO means that you are resident at the hospital for 24 hours for the period of your cover. Most rotas are either one week on / one week off or 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off. During your cover you will be on call 24 hours during which time you must remain on the hospital site at all times. Meals and accommodation are provided free whilst on duty and there is usually satellite TV available.

During your off weeks you will have time to study or visit different parts of the UK or return to your home country to see your loved ones! If you require help in setting up off-duty accommodation, or advice on travelling throughout the UK or abroad, then we will be pleased to assist you.
